MINNEAPOLIS, MN (May 15, 2009) In support of the community, the Greater Minneapolis Hotel Association made a $1,000 donation to the Minneapolis Mounted Patrol. The Mounted Patrol is highly effective in crime and crowd control at public events such as parades, concerts and sporting events. With 22 sworn officers and 9 police horses, this heroic patrol unit is highly visible in crowds and well received by the public.
When asked why the Minneapolis Mounted Patrol was selected to receive this generous donation, John Luke, President, commented What better way to serve our citizens and out of town visitors? Not to mention, the horses add such a friendly and heart warming element to our community.
